Celeste Baez is a seasoned real estate professional with over 21 years of experience in the residential sector. Currently working with Florida Realty Investments, Celeste has built a reputation for dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to helping families find their perfect homes. Throughout the years, Celeste has developed a deep understanding of the unique needs of homeowners and has been instrumental in guiding countless clients through one of the most significant decisions of their lives. As a community ambassador, Celeste looks forward to giving back to the community by fostering meaningful connections between local schools and families.
Alycia Banks
Alycia C. Banks brings a wealth of experience from her roles in the legal field and the public sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and an Associate of Arts from Seminole State College.
As a mother of two, Alycia is particularly excited to be selected as an SCPS ambassador, looking forward to gaining insights into the operations of an A-rated, academically high-performing school district. She is passionate about community engagement and is eager to contribute her feedback and collaborate with fellow community members for an enriching experience.
Vidya Sagar Barija
Sagar is a Strategy and Analytics Technical Solutions Manager at Deloitte Consulting LLP with more than 19 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He specializes in delivering complex IT analytical solutions for his companies’ fortune 500+ clients. He has immense experience in providing IT product design specifications and implementation of the business technology solutions for clients across multiple domains & industries. He has always been passionate about giving it back to the education system in any means possible and looking forward to the enticing journey of learning about the behind-the-scenes operations of SCPS. Sagar has a 5 year old, who is a student with SPCS.
Nitesh Baranwal
Nitesh is a coding instructor and also serves as a soccer coach at Orlando City Seminole. He is a proud parent of an SCPS elementary student. Through the CAP program, Nitesh would like to learn how to best help SCPS students achieve their full potential.
Kristin Broadway
I look forward to gaining a further depth of knowledge about the processes and systems needed to operate a high-achieving public school system. Understanding the complexities and uniqueness of a community, results in appreciation and respect, while also creating a clearer path forward for change, growth, and opportunity. I consider it a civic duty to contribute to one's community, but I consider it a privilege and honor to be a part of this one!
Anabelle Burgos
Anabelle Burgos is a pediatric clinical research nurse at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida. With a deep commitment to improving healthcare delivery for children and families, she assists in providing alternative treatments to children who have limited access to healthcare. Her work focuses on optimizing care through innovative approaches, such as telemedicine. Her passion for community health drives both her professional endeavors and personal involvement.
Brandy Cannon
As a graduate of SCPS Brandy has a lot curiosity in how each department works together to provide a safe space for the next generation of learners. Having spent five years in the classroom in Seminole County as an early childhood educator and she is looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about how decisions are made beyond the classroom.
Jonathan Dean
Jonathan is a Software Engineer at Oracle, where he develops and supports healthcare. Before moving into software engineering, Jonathan was a paramedic in Florida, an experience that gives him valuable insight into the needs of healthcare providers. Outside of work, Jonathan is an avid woodworker and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Jessica and their 6-year-old child.
Byron T. Deese
Byron T. Deese, CEPA® is the Relationship Development Manager for Glass Jacobson Wealth Advisors and a Retirement Plan Consultant within the firm’s investment advisory division. Byron specializes in providing retirement services and employee benefits for small businesses. He is a Certified Exit Planning Adviser (CEPA), and a licensed insurance agent in Life, Health, and Annuity. A native of Sanford, Florida, Byron is a graduate of Tuskegee University in Alabama, with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He is also the founder of the Dream Makers Network, which is a professional services company.
Byron is active in the community, as he served as a Board Trustee for the City of Baltimore Employees’ and Elected Officials’ Retirement Systems. He also serves as a Board member for the Baltimore City Community College Foundation, Baltimore Civic Fund, Abilities Network, and Associated Black Charities. In 2020, Byron was inducted into the Professional Advisor Recognition Society by the Baltimore Community Foundation and is also a member of their Investment Committee. In 2023, he was appointed to serve on the Professional Advisory Council for the Central Florida Foundation. Byron and his wife, Maria, have one daughter, an SCPS student.
Sarah Hohman
Sarah Hohman has worked for AdventHealth for over 17 years and is currently the Executive Director of Community Strategy. While working in the corporate environment, she continued her involvement in the community, graduating from Leadership Seminole Class 21 and Leadership Orlando Class 99. Sarah was elected Chair of the Leadership Seminole Executive Council in 2021 and currently serves as secretary of the Board of Directors. Additionally, she has been the co-chair of the Leadership Seminole Summit for the past five years. When she’s not at her corporate job or pursing her personal passions, you can find her cheering on her children in multiple sports, working out, or enjoying a date night with her husband, Wes, of 17 years in their beloved Seminole County.
Amy Jennings
Our children are the future of our community and our world. The SCPS teachers and staff across the county are actively making a positive impact through the actions they take every day. I want to learn how I can best support and advocate for our children and families within the state of Florida and Nationally. As parents, our professional and personal skills and experiences can also create a positive impact for our students and families. I am passionate about personally investing in the SCPS community and finding ways for other parents and community members to contribute as well.
Tracey Lager
Tracey Lager has worked for Florida Dairy Farmers for the past 22 years as Vice President, Finance & Administration. She is a product of Seminole County Schools – Casselberry Elementary, South Seminole Middle School and Lake Howell High School. She and her husband Steve have lived in the Oviedo area graduating from UCF and have two sons who also attended Seminole County Schools.
Charlene Lambis
Charlene Lambis serves as a Program Coordinator in the Simulation and Innovative Technology Department at AdventHealth Central Florida Division. In her role, she specializes in the management and optimization of learning technologies, simulation, and training initiatives. Charlene possesses a robust skill set in leadership and management, demonstrated through her effective oversight and strategic direction in her role. She is passionate about empowering teams and driving organizational success through effective leadership and management. She thrives on creating an environment where individuals are motivated to excel and where strategic initiatives lead to meaningful and impactful results.
Nina Leonard
Nina Leonard is an avid learner who strongly desires to help develop children and young adults. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in finance, she attended graduate school at the University of North Florida to complete a master's degree in elementary education. She previously served as vice president of the PTSA for UCP Bailes in Orlando and as youth minister at her church.
Nina has over a decade of award-winning experience in higher education, while still serving her community through mentoring programs and church initiatives. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Central Florida, where she serves as the Director of Academic Success Coaching for the College of Business. Her husband is a higher education professional and youth coach. Together, they have two children who attend Seminole County Public Schools. As a community ambassador, Nina looks forward to continuing to learn about programming that supports the community.
Joshua Memminger
Sergeant Joshua Memminger is a decorated law enforcement leader with 16 years of dedicated service at the Sanford Police Department. Over his career, Sergeant Memminger has taken on various roles including Patrol, Investigations, and School Resource Officer. He holds both an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Beyond his professional duties, Sergeant Memminger has been deeply involved in his community, serving as a Youth Program Manager/Director for over a decade and coaching youth sports in Sanford. He also dedicates time to the Dividends Program and community service through Rotary. Sergeant Memminger is a proud parent of four children, two of whom are currently enrolled in Seminole County Public Schools.
Ryan Miller
Ryan is an SCPS alumni having attended Wilson Elementary, Greenwood Lakes Middle, and Lake Mary High. He served 10 years of service with seven deployments in the United States Navy and is a disabled combat veteran. Finding his niche in private security he now runs a private security firm in Seminole County. Ryan is looking forward to becoming involved in schools again as a part of the Community Ambassador Program.
Jeff Sharon
Jeff is a Course Director in the New Media Journalism M.A. program at Full Sail University. He has worked in education since 2011. He is also the public address announcer for UCF Football and Men’s Basketball and the Founder and Managing Editor of Black & Gold Banneret, a website covering UCF sports for Vox Media’s SB Nation network. Jeff has extensive experience in multimedia journalism and media production, having worked for both UCF Athletics as the Director of Broadcast Production, and the former WNEG-TV in Toccoa, Georgia as Sports Reporter and Anchor. He graduated from UCF with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television and earned his Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism at the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University.
Lesley Staton
Lesley is a dedicated supporter of public education, as a public school graduate as well as a former national board-certified elementary teacher in Alachua and Seminole County. Raising her two children, now 11 and 14, pulled her out of full-time teaching, but opened new doors to making a difference in their schools as a Dividend, reading tutor, and stakeholder. She fills her days serving as a school and county PTA leader, chairing the leadership team at her church, and spending time with her family. Lesley is eager to be a Community Ambassador and learn more about the inner workings of our school system and ways she can better advocate for the students and staff in our district.
Catherine Throneburg
Catherine is a dedicated professional with a diverse background and a profound commitment to her family and community. With 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, she transitioned seamlessly into real estate, where she serves both residential and commercial clients with exceptional professionalism. As a devoted mother of three SCPS students, Catherine skillfully balances her family life with her professional endeavors.
In addition to her career achievements, Catherine is a supportive law enforcement wife, actively involved in initiatives that strengthen community relations with law enforcement. Her ability to manage these roles highlights her exceptional organizational skills and dedication to making a positive impact both at home and in her professional life.
